Makhelot Community Center

Our studio has been asked to design an addition to an existent religious community center in Holon.

The original building was a simple one-story rectangular plan, onto which we have decided to juxtapose a mildly rotated 2nd floor. Thus, creating an additional semi overlapping mass, offering an entrance area and additional shade around the building's perimeter.

The new floor has defined an alternative boundary shell for the building, offering more diverse and rich semi-public spaces.
