Herzliya Court

General Info

In order to reach fine results, an effort was made to emphasize the functional and metaphorical elements together with technological developments in architecture.

Value added elements in the building design: The courthouse is situated into the landscape in a sensitive and orderly manner. The integration with the site natural resources and topography manifests this idea. The eucalyptus plantation is remained untouched and is integrated to the scheme vegetation and exterior landscaping adjacent to the entry area. The sloping topography is maintained to stress the presence of the building, while support services are hidden behind.
The planned courthouse forms an integral part of the urban planning scheme of the city square as it is done historically. It’s location near the city municipality creates a dialogue and thus defines the civic center.

The design envisages a transparent interaction between the building and the public. This mimics the ideology of the governing body of the legal system, allowing for trust and cooperation between the public and authorities. In the obscured facades, private and discreet interaction may continue without being interrupted.

Modesty and sensitivity are integrated into the planning and concept by means of clean and peaceful internal spaces and modest facade treatments.
